Richmond musician, composer and audio engineer Dave Watkins is a one-man instrumental machine whose live shows can drive listeners into sensory overload yet leave them wanting more. During his performances, Watkins uses various instruments in conjunction with assorted visual effects, looping techniques and video projections to create a modern psychedelic experience. Months in the making, his newest album, “When No One Else Is Here and Everyone Is Asleep,” will be released to Watkins’ eager fans as he performs at the Camel on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m. $5. 353-4901.
