Finding an audience for himself, appearing on Comedy Central's “Premium Blend” and landing his own half-hour special with “Comedy Central Presents,” Dane Cook steadily has become one of the most successful stand-up performers in the business. One of the first comedians to use the Internet as a means to galvanize his fan base, Cook's 2005 album, “Retaliation,” became the most successful comedy album since Steve Martin's “A Wild and Crazy Guy” was released in 1978. Sometimes abrasive, sometimes vulgar, Cook's brand of humor excels in manic storytelling. He may rub some people the wrong way, but the guy has no problem filling stadium-capacity venues. Cook is set to perform at the Richmond Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. $35-$70. 800
