Daddy Long Legs plays kinetic garage-punk blues seething with fuzzed-out chutzpah. Their music has the post-Howlin’ Wolf feel of early Beefheart minus the angular obtuseness. It’s straight-up, trash-can, 12-bar blues that has no time for George Thorogood paint-by-numbering. Thank goodness for that. The Brooklyn-based trio pimps their grimy-nailed Little Walter obsessions without the dehumanizing sanitizer that defines most modern blues excursions. Like the masters, the Norton Records artists are all about facilitating a physical release that’s truly bad to the bone. They bring their sweat-stained take on what has been to Bandito’s Burrito Lounge on Sunday, June 22. The Norfolk and Richmond duo the Lonely Teardrops open. The music begins after 9 p.m. Free. banditosburritolounge.com.
