Swedish electronic band Covenant became famous on this side of the pond for dark songs filled with thundering rhythms and science fiction and cyberpunk themes, such as “Replicant,” “Dead Stars” and “Brave New World.” Its aggressive, usually distorted style of music gradually moved into the realm of synth pop, where its collective sound started to evolve. In January 2011, Covenant released its seventh studio album, “Modern Ruin,” and is working on another. Covenant performs with the Break Up and Bella Morte at Fallout on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m. $20. falloutrva.com.
