CountryFest at Innsbrook Pavilion

The former lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius Rucker (pictured), has a rejuvenated music career. But you won't hear his latest tunes on the local adult contemporary station because he's crossed over to country. Not a bad choice, considering Rucker holds the No. 1 country hit by a solo black artist since 1988. Check out the Ninth annual K95 Pontiac GMC CountryFest May 31. Rucker, Jo Dee Messina and Jamey Johnson will perform at Innsbrook Pavilion. Gates open at 2 p.m. and music starts at 3. $17.50-$40. 4901 Lakebrook Drive. 423-6589. — Veronica Garabelli
