We referred to comments by former University of Richmond president Bill Cooper as being made to the student body in 2005 ("The Past [and Future] According to Ed Ayers," Cover Story, July 2), but they were made in an address to faculty and staff.

Richmond should take the time to look a little deeper when borrowing from other cities. Claims made by proponents of new ballparks usually are overstated.
