City's Power Shift Represents Hope

It was refreshing to see your piece on the power brokers on City Council ("The Power List 2007," Cover Story, July 25). Because the council has at least six courageous elected officials who are willing to make this new form work, you could have picked any one of these and would have been justified in your selections. Your designations represent the city's best hope for the future.

It is this type of objective commentary which makes Style Weekly such an important and immeasurable asset to this community. Style has shown its commitment to not only keeping the public informed, but also meets the litmus test for effective journalism -- to monitor government. This is a sadly missing dimension of this field.

Your "Power List" was representative of meeting these tenets. Keep up the impressive and admirable journalistic foray.
