Easily considered an all-star among contemporary jazz players and audiences alike, trumpeter Chris Botti has found significant success with crossover appeal into pop music. Lending his slick, laid-back horn work to recordings of Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin, and spending prolonged periods on tour with the likes of Paul Simon and Sting, Botti keeps things warm and organic, tipping his hat to the influence of Miles Davis. With his recently released live album, “Chris Botti in Boston,” featuring guest appearances by Josh Groban, Steven Tyler and Yo-Yo Ma, Botti is scheduled to perform classic jazz standards and originals at Richmond CenterStage on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. $56-$74.
