Country music is, at its core, a tribute to the simpler aspects of life. A walk through the rural, honeysuckle-covered lanes of the music landscape, away from the fury and sound of the Big City and every complicated ideal it stands for. That's why the rebranding of CountryFest as the "K95 Pontiac-GMC CountryFest" seems to stray a little. Perhaps the simple pleasures in life now include roaring down those folksy pathways in your gigantic GMC Sierra. CountryFest pulls into the Richmond Raceway Complex Aug. 11 and includes headliners Trace Adkins (above), Heartland and Carolina Rain. Gates open at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20-$50.
