It's hard to imagine modern astronauts, living on a space station and orbiting the Earth at more than 17,000 mph, not having something by Caspian on their lists of songs. The perfect aural companions to drifting celestial bodies and the overwhelming nothingness they inhabit, these New England post rockers layer their arrangements with thick layers of guitar, synth effects and percussion. The band establishes a sprawling wall of sound that feels like otherworldly transmissions sent from some faraway place. Supporting the release of the sophomore album “Tertia,” Caspian is scheduled to perform at the Triple on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m.
