Nate's Taco Truck, on the corner of Grove and Park avenues where the two meet Linden. The best beef and chicken tacos around, Frito Pies and vegetarian-friendly taco options.

Mobile Munchies, West Main Street between Cherry and Harrison. Commonly known as the hippie-cart, it serves burritos in the vein of a Phish-show parking lot.

Caféspresso, intersection of West Franklin and Shafer. An alternative to the campus Starbucks, with specialty coffees and pastries.

Lee Catering, near the corner of West Cary Street and South Belvidere. Burgers and Americana food.

La Rama, near the corner of West Cary and South Belvidere. Mexican, with a popular torta de pollo.



Shockoe Slip and VCU Medical College of Virginia area

Thai Cabin, two locations: North 11th Street between Marshall and Broad, intersection of South 10th and Main streets. Popular for teriyaki chicken and panang, and everything is $5 with tea and tax included.

Caribbean Grill, North 11th Street between Marshall and Broad. Spicy jerk chicken is popular.

Mike's, E. Marshall between North 11th Street and North 12th Street. Well-known for its tasty taco salad.

Christie's Lunchbox, several locations: East Marshall between North 11th Street and North 12th Street, and East Cary Street between North 10th Street and North 11th Street. Top-notch wraps and sandwiches.

Christopher's Runaway Gourmay, four locations: Eighth, 10th and 12th streets on Main; 11th and Marshall streets. City-famous for its chicken salad; acclaimed for fresh, tasty food that's a cut above and around $5.

Papa Ningo, North 12th Street between Marshall and Broad streets. Longtime standout for slow-cooked pepper steak and curry chicken, rice and beans.

Andy's, East Marshall between North 12th and North 13th streets. Known for their Philly cheese steak.

Bombay Express, on the corner of East Marshall and North 11th Street. Chicken makhani and curry chicken are outstanding.

Red Deluxe, on East Main Street between North 10th Street and North 11th Street. Specializing in a half-smoked spicy hot dog.

Sticky Rice, on the corner of East Cary and North 10th streets. Select sushi options from their ever-popular Fan locations.
