Halloween is probably the most difficult holiday to hold onto as you get older. There's just something a little weird about spending a night dressed up as a monster or familiar fictional character only to get up the next morning to work a 9-to-5 job dressed in a more office-friendly costume. Now in its fifth year, Gallery5's Carnival of the 5 Fires has continued to be an unofficial Neverland for the holiday's twisted enthusiasts. In addition to its standard fare of sideshow entertainers, this year's multinight event is poised to exhibit plenty of burlesque beauties, musical performances and Hallow's Eve-inspired art Friday, Oct. 30, continuing with a costume contest Saturday, Oct. 31, and closing things up with a good, old-fashioned sAcance Sunday, Nov. 1. The parties begin at 7 each night. $8-$15. For information visit www.gallery5arts.org or call
