Remember that imaginary Basket Weaving 101 course you and your buddies joked about signing up for back in college as a means to slack off for the semester? Turns out that actually could have been the means to a fairly respected profession. Intricately coiled sweet-grass baskets are just a sample of the art being exhibited at the Science Museum of Virginia for the 44th annual Visual Arts Center Craft + Design Show. Showcasing ceramics, jewelry, glass, fiber, leather and wooden creations, artists from 19 states display their mixed-media works Friday, Nov. 21, starting at noon. $12. 353-0094.
