Boombox at Canal Club

Boombox duo Russ Randolph and Zion Godchaux hit the music scene bringing a blend of house and funk music that's earned them the music label Jamtronic. While Boombox prefers to be classified traditionally as rock, the mixture of DJ Randolph's backbeats and Godchaux's rhythmic guitar tends to make a crowd shake a hip. The duo, during live shows, concentrates on being DJs first by gauging the audience and playing records to keep the energy up. Catch them at the Canal Club on Friday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 p.m. $10-$12.
