Richmond’s Black Girls have been quite busy the past year. Between a packed CD release party at the Camel for their new album, “Hell Dragon,” and preparing for a tour with indie rockers the Head and the Heart (Richmond is, of course, one of the stops), the band has gained fans and critical acclaim with its soul-infused indie rock. Black Girls’ new disc already has been called one of the best regional albums of the year and a tough act to follow. Once the dust settles from the group’s sudden takeoff, people may see Black Girls hitting the mainstream and finding themselves recalling the good ol’ days when the band played smaller venues. Black Girls will celebrate the vinyl release of “Hell Dragon” when they perform at Kingdom on Friday, Feb. 24, at 9 p.m. $12. kingdomrva.com.
