It’s impossible to talk about salsa music without mentioning local favorites Bio Ritmo. The ensemble is known for mixing the traditional salsa sound with rhythms from samba, electronica and big-band brass; the group leaves no one disappointed — or even standing still — during a live show. After what seems like ages, the group finally is releasing its new album, “La Verdad,” to eager fans with a release party that may just explode with all the talent and pent-up energy on display. Bio Ritmo performs at Gallery5 on Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. $10-$12. 644-0005.
