Better Than Ezra at the National

Better Than Ezra just won't give up. Despite enduring numerous lineup changes and years bouncing around under various labels, this ensemble of '90s alt rockers has remained standing while such acts as Matchbox Twenty, Third Eye Blind and the Goo Goo Dolls have faded away. The latest evidence of its steady survival is the release of the band's seventh album, “Paper Empire.” Featuring the kind of measured pop sounds that won't disappoint the band's loyal fan base — Ezralites as they playfully call themselves — the Better Than Ezra trio performs at the National on Sunday, July 12, with Tyler Hilton and 16 Frames. Doors open at 7 p.m. $18-$21. 612-1900. — Lauren Nicole Hill
