One of the most interesting things about the music of Thomas Meluch — better known as singer and songwriter BenoArt Pioulard — is his ability to incorporate the world around him in his work in a very literal way. Often out and about with a recorder in hand, Meluch uses the sounds of his natural surroundings in his pop compositions, sampling anything and everything from the chirping of insects to crashing ocean waves, blending them into a hybrid of folk and computer electronics. On the road alongside Windy and Carl and Lamb's Laughter, the sound collector comes to the Triple on April 30 at 9 p.m. $10. 359-7777. — Mike Hilleary
