B-Fiftysomethings

Like the jet-powered bombers that share their name, The B-52s left quite an impact in their heyday, selling a load of records and bringing a little funk to the pop charts. Funk mob leader George Clinton once called the group “Parliament for white people,” and the comparison rings true. Both bands have endured the departures of key members and the sometimes-treacherous business of music, and continue to turn out songs that people enjoy. The group just released its first album in more than 10 years (“Funplex”) and has overhauled the Chrysler for this tour. The older new wavers perform at the National Theater Sunday, April 27, at 7 p.m. with Eagle Seagull. Tickets are $37.50. 612-1900
