A Stocking Stuffer to the Face

Nothing brings to mind the enduring spirit of the holiday season like a bunch of athletically aggressive women on roller skates looking to cause substantial physical harm to one another. There must be a bylaw somewhere on Santa's naughty-nice list that says it's OK to pummel on your fellow citizen if proceeds from a viewing public make their way to some charitable organization. Join the River City Roller Girls as they hold their third annual Seasons Beatings, bringing together Richmond's teams and roller girls from along the East Coast. The event raises money for Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) and the Richmond YWCA. Doors open Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Skateland. $10-$12. 5512 Hull St. Call 233-7215 or visit www.rivercityrollergirls.org.
