Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, the irreverent duo also known as Jay and Silent Bob, have become household names thanks to appearances in most of Smith’s films, including “Clerks,” “Mallrats,” “Dogma” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.” Now, the two are hitting the road in a series of one-night-only shows with their new animated film, “Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie,” which features them as costumed avengers Bluntman and Chronic, smashing supervillains while getting high along the way. Audiences will have the opportunity to watch the new movie and stick around for a question session with Smith and Mewes afterwards. “Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes: a Night With Jay and Silent Bob” takes place at the National on Wednesday, June 5, at 8 p.m. $29-$39. thenationalva.com.
