Note: The date of this event has been changed to Thursday, May 10 because of the anticipation of inclement weather.

The forest of Maymont will come alive when Richmond Shakespeare presents the Bard’s classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” under the direction of James Alexander Bond. The play tells the story of young lovers who are manipulated by the fairy folk who inhabit the forest, and is regarded as one of Shakespeare’s greatest works. The one-night-only performance features the talent of local actors John Minks, Ryan Bechard, Jen Meharg, Matt Hackman, David Janosik, Liz Blake White, Emma Mason, Todd Schall-Vess, Thomas Cunningham, Dean Knight, Kerry McGee, Alana Smith, Pierce Belfield and LaSean Greene. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” plays on the carriage-house lawn at Maymont on Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. Free. richmondshakespeare.com.
