Written by little Billy Shakespeare sometime between 1590 and 1596, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has entertained audiences for centuries. Jan Powell directs this outdoor production of the events surrounding the fictional marriage of Theseus, Duke of Athens (John Moon), and Hippolyta (Melissa Johnston Price). It features the timeless trials and tribulations of bickering nobles, devious fairies and guileless rustics in pursuit of love. The Richmond Shakespeare Company and Henley Street Theatre open their 21st-century version of the playwright’s most enduring comedy Thursday, June 12, at Agecroft Hall. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” runs June 12 through July 6 with shows Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. For information call 353-4241 or visit agecrofthall.com.
