I have a suggestion for the location of VCU's second gallery ("VCU Art School to Build Second Art Gallery," Street Talk, July 2). Instead of building it at the corner of West Cary and Jefferson streets, I think it would make more sense to locate it on Broad Street, between Second and Third streets. The north side of that street is the location of mostly boarded-up storefronts and could certainly use a makeover of the VCU kind. Build the structure far enough back from Broad Street so that a parking lot could be located around the art gallery. Also, it would be nice to see a park area with benches fronting the building, with the possibility of a sculpture garden on site. After all, VCU is inevitably expanding downtown, and this would be a nice project beautifying the area. Joe Shocket Richmond
