<![CDATA[I agree that we need a way to encourage pedestrians to pay attention to traffic too. If you crossing Cary in a car, particularly at one of the streets that bends a bit like Belmont or Auburn/Beaumont, at least half of the pedestrians don't even bother to look at the light to see if they're crossing legally or not or check to see if a car might be coming.

<![CDATA[It would help tremendously if pedestrians would pay attention to the traffic flow, street signs/lights, and avoid the constant jaywalking across Cary St and side streets. As a C-town resident (who hardly drives) it's appalling to see the daily carelessness of pedestrians in the neighborhood.

<![CDATA[I would love to see the 4-5 blocks that comprise Carytown closed to traffic on Saturdays and Sundays... or maybe permanently~ and turn it into a place like the Mall in Charlottesville, with open bistro type restaurants and vendors down the middle of the street.... benches, attractive plantings... people could stroll leisurely down those several blocks unhampered by traffic... meet, greet, eat, shop and socialize...take in a movie, have an ice cream...there are plenty of other parallel streets to get people where they need to be.
