Richmond is NOT a terrible restaurant town, if fact it is unbelievable considering the population. If Richmond has a problem it is that there aren't enough high salary people willing to pay good money for edible art.

Many Richmonders are are blind to the idea that a chef is an artist. You don't go and look at a painting and ask the artist to change the colors or perspective, so don't go to a restaurant and ask the chef to take components of 3 different dishes to make something that you want.

Everyone deserves an opportunity to gripe about the perils of their respective professions, but when you do it in a public forum: be careful with your words.

What I'm seeing here is kitchen staff of varying levels (and definitely not owners) straight up bashing some of their clientele. What you fail to realize is that those low-down dirty, 10% tipping, groupon-using, restaurant-hopping, scathing review-writing, corner table-hogging, meal-splitting aren't the people reading this article.
