<![CDATA["WhatsWrongSMV?'s" information is a bit different from what I heard in December from SMV staff working on the project, but there are probably a few ways to get an SR-71 inside the building. My question is why do it at all?

<![CDATA[Morgan, their plan is to take the SR-71, which is currently located outside the front of the Virginia Aviation Museum by the airport, disassemble and refurbish it, and then bring it in piece by piece. According to their plans, when reassembled, the plan will hang above the main concourse (the first area once you pass the Rotunda/lobby, there would literally be inches left on each side of the plane (so let's hope we don't have another earthquake).

<![CDATA[Answer: They will have to tear down the wall to get the SR-71 inside (and remove the SR-71 from the Virginia Aviation Museum to boot). The disposition of the steam plant and the Aluminaut submarine exhibit are both unclear, and I haven't seen anything on these subjects yet.

<![CDATA[Question: how can they get an SR-71 into the old terminal hall without either disassembling the plane, or demolishing a wall in the National Register-listed building? Also, the rendering suggests that in order to build the pavilion, they may end up demolishing the historic steam plant outside!
