UPDATE: Despite continued correspondence with the Firehouse Theatre Project’s Board leadership and a request by a Board member that it be placed on the agenda for its February meeting, there is still no confirmation that the proposal for resolution of the situation offered on January 24 by members of the Richmond theatre community will, in fact, be heard by the full Board. Members of the public interested in seeing a positive resolution of this situation are encouraged to contact members of the FTP Board’s executive committee and request that they allow presentation of this proposal to the full Board.

There is a line in "Promises, Promises" that says something akin to "knowing when to leave is the smartest thing anyone can do."

Here is how I see the awkward, sad, and bizarre reality of this situation as I look into a crystal ball...
-The Firehouse Board will stay in tact.
-No one will ever really know why Carol was forced into retirement.
-The truth behind the entire set of pre and post meltdown exchange with Carol, the Board, and the rest of the FTP staff will never be brought to light.
-Carol will not be returning to the FTP in any capacity
-An interim AD will be named who local people will know and some will support.
-Randy will work to try and align the board and start doing major damage control with big donors, corporate sponsors, and administrators of grants.
-A good number of Richmond Theater Community actors, crew, technicians, and musicians will work at the theater for the rest of this season.
-A good number of those above will continue to boycott the theater. Probably a 60/40 split of those who will work/support and those who will not, respectively.
-The majority of the non-theater community will still come to the theater and will support it because a) they don't know the details b) don't care or c) just want a night out
-The theater will have a rough rest of the 2012-2013 season cleaning up this mess.
-The FTP board, based on Jo's connections, will bring in other significant donors and corporate sponsors for the 2013-2014 season.
-The 2013-2014 season will be bold, big, and many people will return to FTP.
-Carol's legacy will remain in tact and people will continue to respect her artistic contributions.
-Carol will thrive at another theater company in town or will start a new one that will be one hell of a success and everyone will support.
-In 1 year, this will be largely a memory (a bad one) for the majority of people, but will be viewed as a major lesson learned for all members of the theater community on how to NOT develop and execute a half-baked (if that) plan.
