      <![CDATA[If MJ12's view is representative, then maybe things haven't changed much after all. If it's the downtown expressway, for example, which was expressly built to get folks from the suburbs into the city at the cost of city residents (both monetarily and by devastating whole neighborhoods), then that's "our" road.

      <![CDATA[Stupidity, When you stop using goods and services that require roads to bring them to market, then you may have a point. Until then, I assume you eat food, wear clothes and use other services that require roads to bring them to market.

      <![CDATA[I would be careful about investing a lot of money in an expanded bus system so that Richmond residents can look for (low-paying) retail jobs in the suburbs. If it's a wise investment, sure, but the city should seek good ridership projections first.
