What I said, and I stand by it, was "Julius, your remarks about alleged dishonesty are slanderous unless you can offer some type of proof to the contrary."

You made those remarks in a public forum and now, three months later, offer to show me something that might back them up. What about everyone else that read your post?

J: I suspect most of the low wage jobs in the counties are staffed by low income county residents. If they're staffed by city residents, the argument for extending public transportation to the counties collapses, since city workers are already able to access county jobs.

If we're going to have a discussion about the benefits of extending public transportation, let's have an honest discussion.

We should consider taxing county dwellers that work in the city and use our infrastructure. That would be a fair solution, unfortunately, taxes are rarely the answer and would only drive businesses to the suburbs.

"The segregation and impoverishment of city schools can be remedied only by breaking down the barriers separating the schoolchildren and taxpayers of the city and the surrounding counties, enabling a cross-border sharing of the benefits as well as the burdens of metropolitan life."

What, exactly, do the counties stand to gain? I don't hear much clamoring from county residents for increased access to the students and workers who make the city the envy of the metro area.
