      <![CDATA[I certainly have no problem with Shaka Smart endorsing whatever candidate he wishes and speaking out on that candidate's behalf. Having said that, I do think a fairly generous (but not unreasonable) reading of the intent of those guidelines is necessary to accommodate an on-campus rally that occurs on the court at which Smart coaches.<br>
<br>
I also can't help but wonder if the community and school would have been quite so supportive of Smart and the rally itself had this been an event for a politician of a different ideological stripe.
