      <![CDATA[A more accurate heading for the receivership piece should read "The government might NOT take away your property," since the receivership bill offers an alternative to eminent domain in the spot blight process. <br>
<br>
That would, of course, be less controversial, and therefore too much to expect given that Style seems to value fear-mongering over informative and accurate reporting.

      <![CDATA[While we are at it, Virginia's gas tax is not 20 cents per gallon; it is 17.5 cents.<br>

As for Chesterfield's comment that roads are the state's responsibility; why is it the state's responsibility to pay for subdivision streets, including dead-end cul-de-sacs that are approved by the localities? If it were on their backs they might not be so quick to approve every single subdivision.
