And if the RMA and the counties are making so much money and are in such great shape, then maybe they can take over the Center Stage (a PRIVATE development that takes PUBLIC funds) and get that white elephant off Richmond's plate.

I am really trying to be less sarcastic, but people around here have problems facing reality.

The RMA is shared, but not equally. The RMA board has 6:2 representation in favor of the city, and the public facilities owned by the RMA are situated in areas that overwhelmingly generate tax revenue for in the city, rather than the surrounding partner counties.

I don't what you think the Mayor promised, Richmond taxpayers are tired of paying for the counties' entertainment.

If the Richmond REGION wants minor league baseball (or decent bus service and half a a dozen other things), then the counties will need to show us the money!

I am quite happy with the Diamond the way it is now after the huge investment the Squirrels made, but a promise is a promise, and the promise was made by Richmond Mayor Jones, therefore the City owns the promise.
