this review is spot on...i live in the neighborhood and have been there 4 times....not bad, not great...some good, some not so good...pretty typical review of a new place.
totally agree on the fries...they need to be double fried...
fry once till almost done, then re-fry to order....it's the only way to get crisp boardwalk fries...

i will say the kids toys/area are a little off-putting to diners without kids...everytime time i have been there, there is a baby crying or toddler clanging stuff around.
this is a place to eat foot, not a playground...i suppose this falls more so on the parents, though...as young parents and families are the majority of bellevue...so i guess you have to cater to them

i will continue to go there, as it took northside grill over a year and a new kitchen staff to get it right...and i am sure this place will too

I am a northside resident and avid supporter of local restaurants especially one that opens up in my neighborhood... with that said- The Mill really is just OK, not good, not great, but not terrible either. I have been there 3-4 times with borderline awkward slow waitstaff, and the food was quite bland with little spark in the flavoring.

I find this review to be completely inaccurate. I read the restaurant reviews in Style Weekly religiously and was looking forward to reading the one about what I think is one of the best new restaurants Richmond has to offer.
I have eaten here several times even though I'm not a Northside resident because I think the food and the service are that good.

Several telling words and phrases that appear in this review:
-utilitarian
-perfectly okay
-adequate
-average
-"fries are excellent in theory"
-"onion rings are bland"
-"confused but mostly adequate"
-"filling and familiar"
Nothing about this review would make me want to eat at this establishment. The reviewer has suggested total mediocrity at nearly every turn, save a burger that was cooked to order and a good key lime pie (neither which, I might add, can totally save a bad restaurant).
