For the future, Broad Street is now home to the cool new Steady Sounds record store and the nonprofit thrift shop Books, Bikes and Beyond. Pibby's Bike shop is due to open on Broad in January, and will join other existing stores such as Richmond Camera, Nick's Market, Beads & Rocks, and the legendary Waller & Co. Jewelers.

Of course, if you're looking for unique shopping, Downtown's numerous galleries can't be overlooked since they feature one-of-a-kind art, crafts, jewelry, household items, toys, and so much more.

Really great lead-in to your biased uninformed article on an area that's come along way and is continuing to grow thanks to the hard work of the people who started businesses here.

I guess I'll stop supporting local businesses and head out there to Best Buy or Target and get everybody gift cards this year. Tis the season!
