Why is a FOR PROFIT enterprise like Centerstage getting subsidized with many thousands of taxpayer dollars while First Fridays gets essentially NO MONEY from the city of Richmond?

Do you think there is a connection between the recent opening of Centerstage and the recent crackdown on First Fridays?

By claiming that First Fridays doesn't happen downtown Mr. R seeks to establish a distinction recognized by neither the general public nor First Fridays itself. (I would refer you again to the official website which clearly states that First Fridays is a Downtown cultural program.)

Without city support, First Friday will fail. Many people want to point the finger at Centerstage and blame them for all of these problems, and they (CS) I truly feel realize that this is the impressions of many people (including me much of the time) Despite that fact, we cannot blame all of our problems on their organization, most should be blamed on the ignorance of our city leaders.
