Before you jump to conclusions and start attacking the "messengers," why don't you visit John Butcher's and Carol Wolf's websites where they have posted an amazing amount of detailed research backing up their concerns. I did and I am glad I did.

Clearly those who agree with wolf and butcher have never tried to have a student tested for special educaton. The process is exhausting.

As long as people like "Educator FORthechildren" are in denial that this problem even exists and will continue to make pathetic and self-serving excuses, i.e., "do what we do," "far more minorities in RPS than their [sic] are white students," school systems across this nation will continue to relegate far too many African American children to special education and thereby deny to them opportunities other children receive as a given in life.

While I agree that Wolf, Butcher and Dovi deserve thanks for bringing this forward, what I want to know is what will our leaders nationally and locally are going to do to step up and make it better.

Interestingly enough it isn't a RPS problem. Studies show across the board that males are identified as learning disabled at a much higher rate than females.
