And is anybody thanking the Carpenter Center Board of Directors whose master strategic plan, drafted in '94, was very close to the final project? They did a great job in spite of the dead dept. stores, terrible parking, and negative Downtown image.

Carroll Saine, Ralph Crosby, Steve Meyers, Ed Villanueva, Helmet Wakeham, Neil Kessler, etc? Is there a plaque honoring these past presidents' contributions?

With all the accolades, and griping, no one seems to remember the first renovation and reopening as "Virginia Center For Performing Arts" in May, 1983. At that renovation the same process of paint matching, and other to original as former Lowe's Thearter ,was made so actually a lot of this renovation had to go back only to that time.

Center Stage is going to be a distraction and drain on money and attention from more important public priorities for years to come. The City should have said "No Thanks" from the begining and let the corporates fund the white elephant on their own.
