Cantor was going to do the rounds on the talk shows immediately after the speech concluded. He was reportedly on Hannity right after.

There's an old Will Rogers saying: "I would rather be the man who bought the Brooklyn Bridge, rather than the one who sold it." So, if you want to believe that Cantor was simply taking notes, then I bet you might be interested in a bridge in Brooklyn.
