Likley that many of the Tax Credits will be dis-allowed, and Markel and/or others will be out the money paid to purchase the credits.

Rumor is he bought a mansion for $1.8 m. and filed for tax credits on the project worth $1.7m. But the mansion was purchased TOTALLY RENOVATED., and the receipts came from a contracting firm owned by Mr. French.

It appears to me that the Markel Corporation is also deeply involved with the related historic tax credits transactions (IE: tax payer dollars).
