We have been paying reparations all along. Now that Obama is president, we should consider doing away with affirmative action.

I agree with the comments that we should focus on economic classes and not race. Why not have a "National Heritage" Museum that would include exhibits that show the various contributions to this great "melting pot" of a nation and acknowledge and apologize for the millions of transgressions made in the name of manifest destiny?

The idea that money is the solution to deep seated psychological race issues is one of the most ill informed ideas floated when it comes to reparations. Just one of the huge errors in this thought is, where would the money come from?

I thought we had already paid out plenty and we continue to pay out reparations welfare, Aid for Dependent Children, low-income housing, job training, special low-interest loans, race-based scholarships, grants for programs to help "at-risk" students, Medicare/Medicaid etc. etc. etc.

When, O Lord, will we ALL be ready to lay down this burden? My ancestors were the sharecroppers who labored alongside slaves working the fields and who were denied their humanity, too, by a government built by and for people born on the "right" side of the tracks.
