Re: “High-Flying Confederates

Um, SouthernGent.....Really? "Like Germans, the Confederates were "only" defending their rights and their state." I am sure that Germany was seeking to dominate Europe and beyond, hardly defending their rights and state.

Matt W. The reasons for secession and the cause of the war are too entirely different things. Just ask Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Yes I can say it with certainty. I'm sorry you must be dealing with a bit of an identity crisis since I have no idea who you are, have never taught a cotillion class and never knew and never cared for the likes of Robert Byrd or his hateful klan ways. Again, your choice of words speak volumes about you and the fact that you meant them for me have had little effect on the quality of my day. And, I guess you mean that just because a ridiculous klansman uses negative words to describe someone makes it okay for you to do so, speaks volumes as well. Reminds me of the pld phrase "well everybody else is doing it, so why can't I?" Juvenile to say the least.

Oh Alexander, quite funny. Doesn't change the fact that a black woman was seen out there. Now where did you learn to talk like that? Strong language weakens an argument. Speech peppered with salty language results in intellectual indigestion. Oh and less than a year later in 1876? Might want to check that math, but I guess your were too busy trying to come up with something pithy to be bothered with details.

Old white hags? Might want to check that. I seem to recall seeing a black woman out there with them.

Treason? How since no one, from Jefferson Davis down to the lowliest private, was tried, convicted or hung for that? Besides, treason is fighting against one's country. the war was one between two seperate nations.....no treason.

Wow! I cannot believe a majority of those commenting are actually defending songs with these lyrics.....all 'cause they hate the Flaggers. Wow! Talk about skewed priorities....

"F#@& the police comin' straight from the underground
F%&*@in' pig wanna act like he like me now
In '86 same b@#&h tried to lock me down
And motherf@#&ers wanna ask why I'm cocky now"
