Re: “Joe Morrissey Enters Richmond Mayoral Race

“If you elect me your mayor," Morrissey said, "you will get a full time mayor who will fight for everyone in this city, every ward, all day long." LOL. You'll get a mayor who will punch anyone in the nose at the drop of a hat and drop his drawers whenever the mood strikes him. You'll get a mayor who had his law license suspended by the State Bar. He could staff his office with young "interns." Really Richmond ? Isn't it time for someone with self control and responsibility ?

Re: “The Frustrating, Depressing, Embarrassing Story Behind Richmond City Hall’s Mind-Numbing Financial Mayhem

Since his election in 2009, hisshoner the mayor has spent around $6,000,000 on being "protected" and chauffeured around by members of the police department. How in the world is this good for the City ?

Re: “Squirming Senators

"You know why we are doing this," Norment blustered at a hearing on the senate bill last week, according to The Pilot. "Because the media is on our back." God forbid you should do the right thing without someone forcing your hand, Mr. Norment. This statement is both telling and sad. What a pity the national media can't hold our President and Congress to the same scrutiny and level of accountability. Our politicians at both the State and national level seem to be curiously financially successful by some coincidental twist of fate. This needs to be pondered long and hard by both the press and the voters.

Re: “Pay What?

ROFL. Excellent job of nailing "Hisshoner" on the video. I'd like to see his eyes if they ever, ever, EVER take away his police limo and chauffer service.

Re: “On the Line

Yes Ron, they could make a "Fighting Joe" beer. Then they could drink a lot of it, start slugging anyone they didn't agree with, drive around drunk and serve it to 17 year old girls. If anyone said anything negative about this obviously inappropriate behavior, they could just spout of some lame excuses about how good the beer tasted.

Re: “The Delegate’s Stay

Good old "Fightin' Joe." In the fine tradition of Bill Clinton. Good old "Skirt Chasin', unaccountable Joe." "Disbarred, re-admitted to the Bar, assaulting Joe." "Immoral, legislating Joe." What a guy !!! How can an attorney hire someone without doing a basic background check on them (which would show you how old they were)? Never mind the obscene texts he sent his buddies, boasting about his exploits with this young lady. Joe Morrisey fans are reminded to keep their heads planted firmly in the sand till this blows over. LOL

Re: “Taken by Force

Hahahaha. I love it. I'm afraid readers weighting in against Mr. Payne's opinion piece have "taken on the appearance of an angry mob." Please folks, consider Mr. Payne's no overkill rule and apply it to this page. He's obviously not armed (with many facts) and I'm sure we could all find something more useful to do with our time.

Morley did get me thinking about the way additional "facts" were thrown to readers through the extensive course of this debate, and while it wasn't a cross examination, it did make me wonder about the thoroughness, credibility, and objectivity of the piece as it was presented to us. The truth always sounds the same every time it's told. Anything else has to be modified, added to, qualified and otherwise explained again and again. Police officers (and I give the Lt. his props) are quick to recognize this and use it to uncover the truth.

While I won't go as far as saying there's egg on your face, Mr. Payne, I will say your nose is looking a bit long from this angle.
