Re: “Who Owns the Bottom?

Of course the "city residents" don't want any development in the bottom, people are afraid that anything that raises land value and is going to force them out is bad for the city! Look at the tremendous increase in property value that will occur, most of the substandard living areas will be forced to close in turn forcing the low income individuals of those areas to move and part ways with what they have known for years; next to free housing. This is by far one of the smartest things that Richmond has finally come up with. Renovate the bottom, make it less appealing for criminal activity and beautify the city. Richmond has long been a laughing joke as a capital, we hold ourselves back because too many people don't accept change! Hey I think we had a guy run for president once and the demographic that voted for him did so not because he was the most qualified candident but because he was mixed and stated he was there for change! Wow it's time for a change! Let's take our city back and let's make it a place people want to come to and enjoy their time, not fear because they are going to get robbed downtown over an iPhone.
Look at short pump! No one wanted that either right? Well it's pretty nice out there and I don't see people complaining anymore. Just stop with all the slave this, 1800 that... It's 2013 and it's a new day and age. That's the problem now days, no one can let go and move on. We are all humans and it's time for is to stop blaming every white person for what happened when we weren't alive. A museum would be awesome, instead of folklore fed to is by our elders maybe we could actually have some facts about how slavery really went down, we know it was a horrible part of the history of the United States, but it still happens all over the world. It was in Europe and they don't even talk about it like it's brought up here! Just get on with the building and let's start anew!

Re: “As Predicted, Woody Wins Easily

CT Woody is scum... he doesn't deserve this position. As a voter, I would demand that the what 30+ family members he employs find work elsewhere and that he kick rocks. His jail is not inmate friendly and who cares that inmates need not live in great living conditions right? Wrong....

Re: “Bar Service

I for one know that the jail food is terrible and Richmond City has a track record for placing (yes by all means) law breaking citizens behind bars, but at the same time, a lot of people are there for minor offenses like traffic things, no human should be placed in jail for a stupid traffic offense unless it kills someone. Driving on suspended charges carry more time than a crack charge in Richmond and its all about money, the typical crack head had no money to pay back his restitution and the person who may have driven on a suspended( probably to go to work... yes work that thing that pays the bills, and taxes, so the crack heads can buy their crack) well they get 30 days because OMG, you drove... um yeah!! They have too! OK now for the food, well it shouldn't be stale and old, it should be nutritious so that yes these people don't get sick, have you seen hospital bills lately??? Crazy high!!
