Re: “Up From the Valley

The above building with the sign of American Tailoring Co., at 1731 E. Main St., became Reliable Furniture Company in the early 1940's. It was owned by my grandfather, Morris Smeyne, and my father, Ben Smeyne. During the later part of the decade, they purchased the building next door, and broke through the wall. The store was closed around 1960.
