Re: “Accused Pastor’s Father: Son “Has Fallen Short”

I think I read these stories years ago. Nah, those were Sicillians and the tales took place in Chicago and New York where their worshiping was at teamster halls.

What I learned is the evolution of organized crime in America went from riding on colts and mustang thoroughbreds to riding in Ford Model A's to Cadillac Sedans and finally to riding on Harley hogs.

On a serious side, many churches/denominations have issues with deviance, power, and greed. Despite all G's misgivings...corruption, deviances, power, etc...the empire he built was able to help a whole lot of poor souls. The lesson I hope the ROC faithful learn from this is you have to have transparancy and division of power.

Re: “Architecture Review: Touchdown Drive

Mr. Burger why dont you go out to Henrico and poll the 90% owners of real estate in your community so you can get a REAL view of what they want. Ignorance is when one person pretends to be the voice of the majority when in fact his views only represent about 5%.

VCU has done more for Oregon Hill in twenty years than the community did in for itself in the past century...by providing the residents the means (by making the area valuable again) to escape from the city so many of them hated. Most now live in nicer homes in nicer neighborhoods while living off of the high rent they charge VCU students. Seems you are the only one who didn't learn how to invest and take advantage of VCU's golden opportunities.

I'm not a Skis fan, but I recognize how good this is for the surrounding areas and richmond Skin fans.

Re: “Sally Bell’s Future in Limbo?

Sounds like Richmonders want their upside down cake and to eat it too.

It is the ownership that decides if they stay. It may no longer be a viable location for them. I agree that it would be great if SB could somehow be incorporated into the new VCU plans, but I also believe that the owners are the ones who need to make that request....if they haven't already. Let's not lose sight of who is in control of the decision...just ask the owner of Sahara's.

I luv their lunch boxes and tater salad.
