Re: “Virginia ACLU Criticizes Richmond Police for Trump Rally, Black Lives Matter Protest

Why not wait to publish this until after the subject of the story 'makes sure they get their facts straight', and resubmits their letter of concern? Why is the ACLU upset about tape over badges? What sidewalks applied to the I-95-blocking protesters? Were the protesters' civil liberties violated on sidewalks outside the police station following their arrest? This is flimsy and vague journalism at best. A bit hasty to publish the story, Peter?

Re: “The Ruins of Richmond

Great article. A possible addition could include the large brick warehouse, almost directly across the street from the Fulton Gas Works building, at the corner of Williamsburg Rd and 31st St. It's had a 'For Lease' sign up for a long time, but determining its optimal use at this point would be the pressing question.

Re: “Interview: Sandwiches That Will Change Your Life (Or Not)

The Border Chophouse is certainly missed.

Re: “Debate: Rooftop Bars vs. Basement Bars

Speaking of roof top bars, what's the story with the old St. Somewhere building in the Bottom? (18th and E. Franklin)

The place has been boarded up for years and is nothing but a major eyesore at this point. It was no doubt a dive when it was open, but could (re)join the hip roof bar movement (albeit only 2nd floor) with some $$$ and bold entrepreneurial dedication.

Re: “Supreme Court Vacates Convictions of Former Gov. Bob McDonnell

ronvirgin, the ethnicity of the former governor is a non sequitur to the actions, motivations and lower ethical standards that got him in trouble in the first place.

Would you support an individual's such actions if they were non-white? Your logic expressed above suggests that you would. That double standard is a display of racism.

The likely underlying ingredient here is that such hypocrisy is acceptable to you. Additionally, your own race has no bearing as to whether you find Van's particular statement racist or not.

Van, is racism necessary?

Re: “Event Pick: Shwizz at Cary Street Cafe

Nice very old school Pink Floyd reference.
