Re: “City Aims for Safer Carytown”
I would love to see the 4-5 blocks that comprise Carytown closed to traffic on Saturdays and Sundays... or maybe permanently~ and turn it into a place like the Mall in Charlottesville, with open bistro type restaurants and vendors down the middle of the street.... benches, attractive plantings... people could stroll leisurely down those several blocks unhampered by traffic... meet, greet, eat, shop and socialize...take in a movie, have an ice cream...there are plenty of other parallel streets to get people where they need to be.
