Re: “Weekly Food Notes: the Transformation of the Old Buddy's, Alcoholic Cupcakes and More

we must be thinking of different restaurants. It was always quiet inside and the food was meh. I dont like to see things fail, but i wouldn't mind either the mill or mi jalisco to move into the larger spot.

Re: “Southern Season to Close

I agree 100% with the sentiment of the article. While SS offered many specialty items (holiday candy and bbq sauce come to mind), their staple grocery items were few and expensive. I actually really enjoyed the store but never found myself going that often due to price constraints. It didn't help that the restaurant was a flop.

I'll second the TJ's location, though it is much larger than the footprint they seem to prefer.

Re: “Architecture Review: The VCU Children’s Pavilion Looms Over East Broad Street

There is new and there is old, let us move on with the times. Not a fan of the rusty cage, but it is visually interesting and downtown needs all the parking they can get right now.

Re: “Early Bird Biscuit Co. Opens in the Fan

I second the motion to stay in Lakeside and open an additional location in the fan! Keep up the great work.

Re: “Permanent Pop-Up

Sorry, balliceaux was a cocktail destination. It brought upon the bee's knees renaissance. Can't wait to try Shoryuken!

Re: “GlobeHopper Coffeehouse and Lounge to Close

We moved to the bottom shortly after they opened and GH provided the comfiest study spot in the area, not to mention great coffee. I cannot say we have visited as much as we should after moving neighborhoods, but I will forever miss those sun filled windows curled up with a boring textbook and a tall french press by my side. We'll miss the GlobeHopper experience.
