Re: “Bypassing Sense”
The bypass is an abomination. Albemarle County has a sensible transportation plan on the books that will cost far less in terms of cash as well as in terms of government use of currently private land (e.g., thru lanes on US 29 with grade separated interchanges at key intersections). This wasteful road was a dead issue but gained new life through some procedural underhandedness on the part of the Board of Supervisors. This is all about Lynchburg pols getting payback for their support of McDonnell. Sorry, Lynchburg, but a useless bypass around C'ville will not bring your city back to its 19th-century glory.
